Children and youth parliament – Lom
The children and youth parliament – Lom is a form of the Centre for work with children – Lom. The organization started its activity in October, 2006. Children and youth of 12-18 years old from all schools on the territory of the town of Lom are members of the parliament.
We work on these directions:
• Ecology and preservation of the environment
• Prevention of aggression and violence, alcohol and drugs
• Culture, sport and tourism
• Debates – initiatives with the local authority
Initiatives:
• We have won project of the Ministry of Education and equipped a computer hall for communication with people of our age from all over the country.
• On Saint Valentine's Day, 14th of February, we took the initiative for giving f Valentine's cards. We gave a drop of love to thousands of people from Lom with this initiative.
• On the New Year's eve, we called the people of Lom to decorate their homes and shops in the central part.
• We supported our friends of "Ecology" club in their campaign for the "Earth Hour".
• We participated in the campaign "I planted a tree", organized by the state forestry department of Lom.
• We managed the Municipality of Lom for several hours at the day of local self-government.
• We participated in the VIII national meeting of the youth parliaments in Blagoevgrad.
• We made the biggest martenitza and gave it to the mayor of Municipality of Lom.
• We gave out more than 5000 stickers, saying "You are not alone" and participated in a public prayer for the salvation of the wrongly accused Bulgarian doctors in Lybia
